Catch street food sensation 2 Fingers – ‘London’s original fish finger bad boys’, kicking off the summer at Acoustic Sundays’ season of outdoor live music community events on the terrace outside The Crypt, which’ll have you dancing in the streets in no time at all!
With an al fresco fish finger fix in mind (weather permitting of course!) 2 Fingers bring you their sizzlin’ selection of fish finger sandwiches, including the much sought after ‘Po$sh’, packed with sustainably sourced North Atlantic cod loin steaks with a Panko crumb on award-winning hand-made artisan white Bloomer loaf, or the timeless classic ‘Old Skool’…which comes courtesy of the Captain’s table!
The first of the summer showcases kicks off on Sunday 5th of June providing a sweltering soundtrack for your Sunday afternoon with this month’s line-up – as always a handpicked crop of home-grown talent, emerging musicians and artists.
Run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers, Acoustic Sunday provides an essential platform for media training and creative opportunities for young people in the community – an initiative by SoundAdviceUK supporting the use of live music to celebrate diversity whilst creating more connected communities.
This month’s line-up includes performances from Janos Anderson – a soulful brand of pop, funk and soul, whist Lucy Evans returns with powerful yet delicate vocals over delightful melodies. Emerging indie-pop singer-songwriter Kat Kenna writes simple songs about complex things.
Kings Parade bring an assured touch of classic Detroit Blues into the mix. 5-piece rock outfit Caine & Abel are known for creating big riffs and tuneful harmonies while Penniless Cove will draw you into “an intricate and expansive soundscape” where playful melodies meet pensive lyrics.
And if all this has got you feeling hot under the collar – quench your thirst at the ‘Sensibly Priced Pop-up Bar’ which includes a selection of locally produced brews from London Fields Brewery, gin and vodka from East London Liquor Company as well as a selection of wines, liquors and soft drinks.
Special guest MC’s Loose Brie will be in residence throughout the afternoon with a dose of intellectual wit and charm sporadically experimenting with sketches, gags and physical silliness, often with explosive results! – Before heading up to feature in their own show at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
Admission is by donations in-kind with all proceeds going to keep this unique experimental community project alive with dates for the remaining season of outdoor community events confirmed for the 3rd July, 7th August and 4th September.
With the taste of the summer breeze definitely in the air, join us on the sunny side of the street where the sun is shining, the weather is sweet (yeah!), 2 Fingers will make you wanna move your dancing feet!
